Ceramic Filter
The cold box resin is developed for mass production industries such as automobile, tractor, internal combustion engine,electro-mechanical and pipes etc, and suitable for high efficiency core making under various production conditions; according to the type of catalyst, it can be divided into amine cured cold box resin and SO2 cured cold box resin. The first one is the leading process of cold box resin, widely used in the production of steel, iron and nonferrous castings. This process consists of three parts, i.e., Benzyl ether phenolic resin solution (part I), polyisocyanate solution (part II) and tertiaryamine catalyst (part IIl). Catalysts generally include triethylamine, dimethylethanolamine, dimethylpropylamine and dmethylisopropylamine, etc.
High strength, reduce casting defects and improve yield rate
High humidity resistance, suitable for high moisture environment, prolongs storage life of cores
Good fludity of sand, improves sand compaction.
Fast curing, high core making efficiency.
Long bench life, suitable for core making in summer.
Low free formaldehyde, good for environment.
220gkg/drum,500kg/IBC tank,1000kg/IBC tank.
Resin addition: Part 1:0.3%~1.0% (of sand weight), Part l1:0.3%~1.0% (of sand weight). The proportion of Part I & Part ll range from 55~50 to 45~50;
Higher content of Part I, higher initial strength and lower gas evolution of sand core; Higher content of Part II, long shelf life of cores, higher final strength, good stripping, but also higher gas evolution during pouring and risks of lustrous carbon and pores on castings.
Catalyst addition: generally 0.5-1.5kg/ton of sand. Factors affecting catalyst addition include equipment, mould, sand core size and shape, sand temperature and room temperature. The minimum addition is expected in summer and maximum addition is expected in winter.
In case of batch sand mixer, different types of sand mixer require different time for sand mixing. The adjustment shall be made according to the sand mixing time recommended by the manufacturer to make sure mixing is even
Resin addition sequence: firstly, Part I is added and mixed with the sand for several seconds before the addition of Part I1. The mixture shall be used as soon as possible after mixing;
The sand mixing amount shall be controlled according to the sand core size, and the mixed sand shall be used up within bench life, which shall not exceed 1h; in consideration of the resin viscosity and sand temperature, the suggested sand mixing time in winter shall be extended by 15% to 50% on the basis of the summer
