The no bake furan sand process uses Furan resin as the binder and adds catalyst for self-curing under normal temperature. This process has been applied in China since the 1980s and extensively benefited industries such as wind power, machine tools, pump,valve, shipbuilding and petrochemical industry by virtue of its good collapsibility, self-curing and high accuracy of casting dimensions. As the requirements for casting quality and environmental protection are increasingly strict, high strength, low gas evolution and environmental protection will be the main development direction of Furan resin no-bake process.

ECO-Friendly: the formaldehyde emission is reduced by 30 to 50% during curing, and less pungent odor is expected during moulding and core making.
High reactivity: the addition of hardener can be reduced by 10 to 20% with the same bench life. The moulding sand obtained is characterized by Low sulfur content in moulding sand.

1.This product is inflammable and may explode when directly mixed with acids such as hardener. Its storage and use places shall be equipped with fire equipment and emergency devices to cope with against leakage.
2.This product is toxic and irritating and PPE is required for operators.
3.This product shall be sealed and stored in a cool and ventilated place with intact packaging, and kept away from fire and heat sources. The temperature shall be controlled under 40℃ strictly. Direct mixing with hardener may cause explosion and it is prohibited to be stored with acids and foods.
4.First aid measures:
1) Skin contact: remove the contaminated cloths and rinse the skin with running clean water.
2) Eye contact: lift up the eyelids and rinse with running clean water or normal saline, and seek medical advice.
3) Inhalation: move to a ventilated place with fresh air, and perform oxygen therapy in case of breathing difficulties. Perform artificial respiration in case of respiratory arrest. Seek medical advice.
4)Ingestion: promote emesis and seek medical advice.
5.Spray water, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide and sand are effective for fire extinguishment.

The Sulfur content is 30% to 60% lower than regular sulfonic acid hardener, and sulfur accumulation in sand system drops to reduce the defects such as hot cracking tendency of steel castings and surface spheroidization fading of ductile iron castings.

1.Sand mixing process
Add hardener into the New sand (or reclaimed sand) firstly, and then add furan resin and . Start core making or moulding after mixing immediately.
2.Addition of resin and hardener
Considering the big quality difference of new sand and reclaimed sand, mould/core size and complexity, the addition of resin shall meet production demands, and normally ranges from 0.7 to 1.5% of the sand weight. The addition of hardener shall range from 30 to 70% of the resin.
3.Control of curing speed
The curing speed can be adjusted by changing the addition of hardener, using hardener with different acidity, or blending hardener with different acidity.
